Joshin Raghubar 
CEO




Joshin’s passion is to create value by weaving together creative ideas, relationships, emerging trends, talented people, entrepreneurial spirit and a commitment to action.

Prior to founding iKineo, Joshin started his career at Interactive Africa, where he was extensively involved in the 2006 Soccer World Cup Bid; project-managed the transcontinental African Connection Rally; and managed the International Design Indaba.

Joshin serves as a director of the Cape Information Technology Initiative (CITi), the public/ private sector agency tasked with development of the region as a Technology cluster; and currently serves as Chairman of the Bandwidth Barn which is Africa’s leading non-profit business incubator and accelerator for technology businesses. He has also recently joined the board of the South African Chamber of Commerce in America. Joshin has a Business Science (Honours) degree, majoring in Finance and Accounting, from the University of Cape Town, and has recently completed a Masters in Development Studies (Cum Laude) at the University of Western Cape’s Institute for Social Development.

Joshin is a Fellow of the Southern Africa-United States Centre for Leadership & Public Values 2007/8 Emerging Leaders Programme; and was selected in 2006 as a Transformation Thinker by the Bertelsman Institute and the GTZ, as part of their global Transformation Thinkers programme. Joshin recently joined the fourth class of the African Leadership Initiative, becoming a Global Leadership Fellow of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.





Franco Raffa 
Business Director




Franco Raffa is both Business and Client Service Director, and enriches iKineo’s management after a successful international stint within the Grey global network. Franco led the global Lucky Strike brand team for the G2 agency, based in New York, coordinating the brand’s consumer engagement strategic activities in key end-markets. He also drove the launch of Dunhill, another key British American Tobacco brand, in selected Asian markets.

Before working internationally, Franco enjoyed a successful career in South Africa, most recently serving as the Business Unit Director at Grey responsible for its British American Tobacco client where he also rolled out the Dunhill brand in South and Southern Africa. He also has a wealth of experience in working with leading liquor brands.





Giles Ritten 
Account Director




Giles started his career at iKineo as the resident intern in May 2006 doing a number of research related projects, with particular focus on competitor analysis across iKineo’s brands.


In June 2006 Giles was offered a full time position as an Account Executive working predominantly on Moet & Chandon Champagne. Over the last two years he has grown tremendously, and has subsequently moved his way up within the ranks of iKineo.


As of June 2008 Giles has been promoted Account Director. He is currently working on the following brands: Hennessy Cognac, Moet & Chandon Champagne: Coca Cola-Style My Coke, Phatset, and Gateway Imagine.


In terms of education his studies began with a BSc in Environmental Science with majors in Ecology and Environmental and Geographical Science. This undergraduate degree was completed in 2004. He then decided to try his hand at something much more business focused, and with room for creativity. This lead him to study a Post-graduate Diploma in Marketing Management at UCT in 2005. The door on studying has definitely not closed, and Giles is eager to continue his studies in the near future – with a particular focus on developing his strategic and management skills





Debbie Reabow 
Account Director




Debbie Reabow has been a part of the iKineo team for 3 years and is currently an Account Director working on Nokia, Jack Daniel’s, Southern Comfort and Famous Grouse Malt.

Before working at iKineo, Debbie studied Politics and Economics at the University of Cape Town and completed a post-graduate diploma in Advertising and Marketing at the Red and Yellow School of Logic and Magic.

Debbie is passionate about laughing everyday, loving her family and friends and being part of a great iKineo team that produces exciting and innovative work :)






Elaine Moodley 
Office Manager / Account Executive




Elaine Moodley is a recent recruit, who has arrived fresh from Durban. She will be operating as our Office Manager, and to support with the running of projects in her capacity as an Accounts Executive.

She will, no doubt, ensure that the iKineo office operates smoothly and efficiently.

Taweni Xaba 
Advisory Board Member




Taweni is the Founder of Malembo Media, and Managing Editor of The Deal Magazine. The Deal is South Africa’s foremost publication for black professionals making a successful career and life for themselves, speaking to upper segment of what is now widely termed the ‘Black Diamond’ market. In this role, Taweni has tremendous insight into content and messaging for this market.

Taweni is an accomplished media professional and has previously been the first Editor of the successful O Magazine in South Africa, and globally awarded Design Indaba Magazine. She has served on numerous industry bodies and is a highly sought-after public speaker.

Taweni is also the founder of African Book Connection, a pan-African Non-Profit Organisation that assists African tertiary education institutions with the provision of text books and other education resources. Taweni began her career as a copywriter at the Jupiter Drawing Room.

David Duarte 
Advisory Board Member




Dave Duarte is South Africa’s foremost expert in new-media marketing. He is an educator, entrepreneur, writer and speaker.

He is founder and director of a social-media marketing programme at the UCT Graduate School of Business, called Nomadic Marketing. He also lectures on the MBA programme and other executive education courses.

Dave is also co-founder of Cerebra, currently South Africa’s leading social-media consultancy with clients such as SABMiller, FNB, Wesbank, Samsung and Toyota. And has recently launched Huddlemind – a community driven social-media content and education company.

His other well-known projects include the 27dinner (a free monthly gathering for the new-media community) which he co-founded, and Muti.co.za (a peer-rated news aggregation platform) which he joined in July 2007 as part-owner.

Dave is on a mission to speed the South African web scene into global prominence so that we get recognized for the hub of diversity, creativity and ubuntu that we are.

Barbara Joffe 
Account Executive




Barbara joined the iKineo team in March this year and has cemented her position as an Account Executive working on the following brands: Southern Comfort, Jack Daniel’s, Famous Grouse Malt, Hennessy Cognac and Nokia.


Before joining Ikineo Barbara worked at the Alliance Group as Marketing Coordinator. Her studies include a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Psychology and Communications and a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management.


Barbara is excited about the challenges of entering into the world of CRM and strives to consistently add value to the iKineo team through her passionate attitude and hard working nature.
