Just got back from a great strategy and ideation session for Southern Comfort. Lots of fantastic ideas for F08 and beyond. Looking forward to seeing all these ideas come to life.


We had the pleasure of hosting this S+I and so the 3 day session was held at Ka’inga Private Game Reserve in Limpopo.The BF team came from the US, the UK and Prague to join us.


A great time was had by all and we even managed to find the time to see the big 5 (minus a rhino)!

Southern Comfort Lovin’ the Limelight Campaign

Southern Comfort recently held a competition for a group of friends to win fame in their city with the Southern Comfort Limelight campaign that ran from February to April. The competition took place at different venues in and around Durban, Johannesburg, and Cape Town where entrants all stood the chance to win spot prizes in the build up to the main prize – a chance for a group of friends, to star in a Southern Comfort billboard in their city for 3 months.


Southern Comfort Limelight branding at selected outlets drove awareness of the campaign. To enter, patrons had to purchase a round of SoCo Lime shooters or Southern Comfort long drinks and then have a picture taken with their group of friends.


Winners were picked on the night, and given Southern Comfort and Lime hampers to all members of the winning group with one member winning a digital camera. The overall Southern Comfort Limelight winners are currently featured on a billboard in their city!

Southern Comfort Mardi Gras Party

“From the land of everything different, comes the party with everything different.”


Southern Comfort consumers had the opportunity to follow the Southern Comfort Mardi Gras Party Krewe around South Africa as they brought the streets of New Orleans to some of the biggest clubs in country.


There were beads a plenty, and the spirit of New Orleans Mardi Gras, in venues from 10-31 October 2009 with the following personalities bringing in a taste of SA: Sasha Martinengo, Dean Fuel, Euphonik, DJ S’bu, DJ Fresh, Roger Goode, Dean Fuel, Darren “Wackhead” Simpson, and Ryan O’Connor.


Southern Comfort, the New Orleans true original, also ensured that consumers got that little bit extra by featuring flame throwers and dancers.
