Nokia coming on board
Sometime ago, Nokia has commissioned two Phatset campaigns – for the E90 business phone and a new multimedia phone. We met with them again today, and they are keen to commission a further campaign :)
Other great brands are also expressing a keen interest.

Our client recently informed us that our ongoing work in creating and managing the Nokia Mobile Leaders Society is acknowledged within Nokia as global best practise marketing. We are very excited by the acknowledgment, as it is a compelling consumer engagement and relationship programme. Congratulations to the team working on the programme!
This adds to global best practise acknowledgements we’ve received over the years from Jack Daniel’s, Southern Comfort, Lucky Strike, and Dunhill.
Nokia Mobile Leaders Society Leadership Chat with Philip Hourquebie
On Wednesday night we had our 7th Leadership Chat with Philip Hourquebie CEO of Ernst & Young. This Leadership Chat was held at the Park Hyatt in Johannesburg. The evening was a success with great learnings from Philip. We will soon be updating the Mobile Leaders website with key comments from the evening and a photo gallery.

Working on Nokia has not only been a fantastic strategic and creative challenge, but a great opportunity for personal growth. How often do you get to conceptualise some great added value ideas with you team and then actually see it come to life in its pure form.
One of the initiatives we launched is the Leadership Chat programme. We offer an opportunity to meet one CEO a month in an intimate lounge setting (Saxon, yeah baby). Not only do I get to learn from Q&A session, but I also get to meet the CEO in question, ask some personal advice and …...wait for it …..the CEO then thanks us for the opportunity!
What a great learning that leaders desperatly need a platform to share knowledge and practical advice. Kudos to Nokia for sharing and believing in the vision. watch this space…...and go to the website… www.mobileleaders.co.za
Nokia N900
Nokia has put together an interesting presentation for their Nokia N900 PR campaign overseas.
A black cube encasing the N900 handset were seeded, that differed greatly from normal handset packing in that it had to be hacked in order to access the handset.
As a geek and Nokia fan, I have to admit that I’m quite impressed by this approach to … packaging!

World's biggest signpost
Nokia London devised a great installation to tie into their Navigation offerings. What did they do? They created a great big arrow and pointed people around! A simple, fun concept that is sure to capture the attention of current and potential consumers.

Phatset - 2008 and beyond
We have completed campaigns for Tom Ford and Nokia this year, and have just recently completed a large campaign for the Nokia N78, which has gone really well. We have been using various ASP and social media tools to manage the campaigns, and the next step of for us to develop a bespoke mash-up using all the lessons we have had over the year.
Tomorrow evening Phatset is a co-sponsor of Green-T, a green fashion exhibition, in Cape Town, bringing together leading edge designers, photographers, sound engineers, and stylists.
