There is no doubt that technology has made the lives of the people using it, easier. It has created a community of users who seek instant gratification. It has also created the opportunity for use to do most things with a few clicks; accounts that would normally required time waiting in queues, grocery shopping, clothes shopping, etc, all can be done using services online. Thanks to recent developments, one can even farm actual vegetables without even moving away from their computers.

An agricultural firm in Italy offers an innovative online opportunity called Le Verdure Del Mio Orto (“The Vegetable from my Garden”) that allows people to create their own organic garden without having to get their fingers dirty.

The first step is for users to select their garden size, this is decided according to the number of people they would like to feed using the garden. According to an article on the offering, 30m2 caters for 1 – 2 people and costs EUR 850 a year. In the next step, one can choose from 40 types of vegetables via a highly intuitive interface that includes information such as harvest times.

There are also optional add-ons such as; a photo album of the progress of the garden, herb and fruit beds, and even a scarecrow. Once produce is harvested, it is delivered within 24 hours, with weekly deliveries as part of the package thereafter.
