Style My Coke allows consumers to wrap their Coke bottles in designer sleeves using a special wrapping machine. Coke lovers style their bottles with sleeves of their choice. It's an opportunity to engage with the brand and product that keeps brand excitement high. We are the campaign managers for Style My Coke and have to design and execute exciting and appropriate ways and moments for consumers to engage with the project.

It has been a while since our last SMC adventure at the Fall Out Boy concert.

This time we’ll be at Enrique Iglesias, live from the Coca Cola Dome on the 21st of October. We’re looking forward to it.

SMC was at the Fall Out Boy concert at the Coca-Cola Dome on the 20th of July.

The concert was pretty good, although the opening acts didn’t blow our socks off.

It must be said that the vibe was absolutely incredible. As soon as the doors opened, there were thousands of screaming teens rushing into the Dome, meeting up with friends, and generally being overly excited.

The SMC team was unbelievably busy, and we were wrapping and selling Cokes till the late hours of the night. It was lots of fun, but we were well and truly exhausted afterwards!

After some negotiations and initial chats the Coca Cola and Boogaloos collaboration is under way. Style My Coke was at the Monte Casino and Brightwater Common Skateparks this weekend, thanks to the iKineo & Boogaloos management teams.

A start to many amazing activations. Not only will we continue a relationship with skating on a national level, but Boogaloos are open to collaborations within their planned lounges and the SkateBoarding World Championships in Monte next Feb…..

You heard it here first!!!! Watch this space….

Next weekend (30th June and 1st July) we’re going to be at the Wavehouse in Durban. There are 16000 people expected to attend, which should make for lots of fun, and hopefully lots of SMC sales!

Adobelive

Style My Coke visited AdobeLive on Tuesday 29th May at the CTICC. The event featured top international and local talent, focusing on design and enterprise solutions.

There was also an opportunity for sponsors and partners to interact with the 500 delegates and showcase their products and solutions in the Adobe Golden Circle, which is where we set up our displays.

The Style My Coke stall featured the entire range of Style My Coke sleeves (about 30 in total). Each delegate was given a bottle of Coke as part of their welcome pack and was able to wrap it with the sleeve of their choice.

Needless to say, the delegates were suitably impressed with the concept, and thought that it was a great display of creativity.

Giles and the team held our first Style My Coke activation at the MyCokeFest in Cape Town yesterday. Great event, and we did well too. Giles even drove the drummer from Hoobastank around to the the doctor today…iKineo going the extra mile.

My Coke Fest- Johannesburg

28 April 2007.

On Friday (27th of April) I made my way up to Johannesburg to get an inside peek at My Coke Fest.

Despite the hype over the last few weeks, the music was a little disappointing. The local bands were alright, with The Parlotones and the Springbok Nude Girls being the pick of the bunch. The Nudies are apparently recording some new music, but obviously opted for a ‘best of’ line-up for the show, playing some of their most renowned songs such as “Little” and “Bubblegum on my Boots”.

The international bands were a big let down. Hoobastank were great, even though I knew 3 songs out of their entire set. 3 Doors Down were okay. Staind were completely average, and Evanescence weren’t good at all.

But music aside, the event was a great experience. Never before have I seen so much skull branded clothing, so many tattoo’s or such a proliferation of black hair die. It was all a little intimidating for a Capetonian boy wearing jeans and all-stars.

Things also got a little festive with a record breaking sale of 145000 draight beers. Bearing in mind that the crowd was roughly 25000 strong, this equates to roughly 6 pints per person, or 3 litres of beer.

Here are some examples of what a Styled Coke looks like. These designs are from our friends in States. We’ve got some killer designs of our own, and as soon as the camera is back in the office I’ll take some pics and upload them.

Style My Coke: How its done

I thought it best to explain a bit about the Style My Coke process.

The basic idea is that bottles of Coca-Cola can by given a design make over. Consumers can choose from a wide array of sleeve designs (+-30 in total). The sleeve is then placed around the bottle, and the bottle is placed in one of our special made Style My Coke machines.

At the touch of a button the specially designed wrapper is heated, and shrinks down until the bottle is totally wrapped in a new stylish design.
